Some Old Posts

31...I feel old and young at the same time. There's nothing better than having a little boy be so happy it's your birthday. About every hour I am asked, "Mommy is it still you're birthday?" When I reply yes he gets all shy and practically whispers, "Happy Birthday Mommy."

The other day we had an appointment for Blake for the ENT. They called us back and Joseph walked up to the nurse first. She said, You're not Blake are you? Joseph says, "No he's the one whining." He cracks me up!!!

First cuss word...Joseph outside playing with a tennis ball and badminton racquet.
Joseph having trouble hitting the ball: Dammit! Dammit!
Me: What did you just say?!!!
Joseph: Dammit.
Me: Do you even know what that means?
Joseph: Yes. It means I can't hit the ball.
Me: (laughing hysterically and not looking at Joseph, after some time to recompose myself) where did you hear that word?
Joseph: I think from the sky.
Me: (again after a few minutes, to quell the giggles) that's not a nice word, you shouldn't say it
Joseph: Ok
Then while he was going to bed he was sing-songing to bed, Dammit, dammit.
James DiGiacomo I totally blame you for this one!!!

Bottle of Joy #2: Watching the boys splash and laugh in the tub after getting squeaky clean #bottleofjoy
Bottle of Joy #1: Joseph was coloring the lid to the sandbox I said that looks pretty cool. Joseph said Daddy will be impressed #bottleofjoy

Mom confession #1: I sometimes use TV as a babysitter so I can clean up. #momconfessions
As we r walking to bad frog fro yo in olde dublin joseph aall of a sudden says this is where we should do halloween...I have no idea what he was talking about, maybe the brick sidewalks? Then as we r sitting on the bench eating he says, "In a long day I'm going to be a police officer and be in charge of letting people cross the street and drive a police officer car." — with James DiGiacomo.

The last night of vacation is always bittersweet. Sad for it to be over but looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. We had a BLAST, especially spending time with family! I asked joseph before bed what his favorite thing this week was and he said, "spending time with my cousins."

We left this morning at 8:15 a little behind but not to bad for packing up the car. We stopped at the bank and I realized I forgot my phone. We looked everywhere. I kept hearing it buzz but could NOT find it...it was in my pocket. 8:45 back on the road. 9:15 Blake pukes. 11 we stopped for lunch and it took an hour because i had to get cleaning spray and air freshener. We didn't make it to penn until 6. We had planned on 4:30. We at least will have some good stories to tell.

Joseph's quote of the day: We were talking about what he wanted to be when he grew up and he was playing basketball outside. So naturally he said he wanted to be a basketball player. When I asked what else he wanted to be he said a train and then he said a police officer. This was a first so I asked him what a police officer does and he said, "They sell cars."

4 exhausted DiGiacomo's + 1 exhausted grandpa tayloe, but had an awesome day riding Thomas the train!!!

Joseph's quote of the day:
(I was leaving to take Blake to the doctor so I had him in the car and ready when Jim got home and Jim just walked in to take over, so I am posting this on Jim's behalf.)
Jim enters room.
Joseph: Daddy, did any of the teachers at work tell you that you look handsome today.
Jim: Well no they didn't
Joseph: well why not?

Awesome St Patrick's Day! A little leprechaun turned our milk and lemonade green and then after naps (ok after playing in our cribs and beds for an hour) super fun St. Patrick's Party with super awesome people!!! Too bad Jim is in North Carolina and couldn't partake in the festivities. The boys had a blast! And I concocted a drink to rival the shamrock shake: green milk, hersey syrup, shot of peppermint schnapps (100 proof of course!), add ice and shake and pour.

Attention parents with more than 1 child: HELP!!!!!! I took Joseph to gymnastics for the first time tonight and Jim had to referee dodge ball at his school and Blake was AWFUL!!!! He was screaming and crying. I tried EVERYTHING! I brought toys, drinks, I tried walking him around, all he wanted was to go in where Joseph was. Joseph never acted like this (granted he never had to miss out big brother fun either) but I don't know what to do when we go out. At one point, Blake was literally lying on the floor kicking and screaming. I was getting lots of dirty looks and eye rolling. Any advice would be much appreciated!!!!

I was putting Joseph to bed and he asked me to tell him a story about Thomas (the train). So I started a story.
Me: ...and Annie and Clarabell were so excited that they cheered and clapped that Thomas was so fast. And Thomas went over the big, big bridge and...
Joseph (interrupting): Annie and Clarabell don't have arms.

I was cuddling with joseph with him and my face was close to his and he kept moving. I thought my hair was tickling him, so I said sorry my hair is tickling you and he said I don't like your steam.

This morning joseph wanted toast for breakfast. After a couple bites he called me in to take off the crust. I pulled it off and left it on his napkin as I pulled off the rest. I was getting ready to pick it up to throw it away when he picked the crust up and ate that! I guess it just goes to show our preconceived notions are not always our kids!

So I know jim's been posting things but I never posted that Blake Thomas DiGiacomo was born on dec 16 @ 3:14pm. He weighed 9lbs 14oz and was 21 1/2 in long (and he was two weeks early!!) I went in at 7:30am with very mild contractions, they broke my water at around noon and at 3 and two pushes later he was born!!! And I got to have the epidural this time!!!!!

Haven't been on here in forever!!! Everytime I would try to get on with my iPod it wouldn't work. So we found out that it's a boy!!!
